Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Bench Warrant ...Will I get arrested?
Hi, My question for anyone who may be knowledgable in the area of warrants is as follows. I currently have a bench warrant out for failure to appear in June of 2001. My license has been suspended since that time. This June I am able to get my liscense back. When I called the DMV to see what I needed to do to get it back, the lady told me and nothing was mentioned about the warrant. My question is that In June when I go to the DMV to get my drivers liscense back...one will they check to see if I have any warrents ...and two will I get arrested there if I go.
Thank you,

You will probably get arrested. I suggest that you do all of your contact with the BMV through the telephone or through an attorney. Bottom line though is that you need to get the warrant cleared up.

I concur with the other advice - use a lawyer to get that warrant gone. You will be arrested...
