Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

I am bieng charged with Obstruction of Official Buisness in Ohio. The police officer that called me told me that he understood that I was a witness to an accident on 1/16/2011. I told him that I was in an accident on 1/16/2011 but that I was not a witness I was in the accident. He had asked if I could come in to talk about it. I told him that I did not have a vehicle because it was totaled in the accident and that if I could find a ride to come in that I would and he said ok. However I could not find a ride to come in. He had called a couple of times but I missed the phone calls. Next thing I knew he was saying that I was involved in a hit/skip and that I was bieng charged with obstruction ofofficial buisness. I didn't even know that he was talking about a hit/skip when he called because he never told me that until the night that he called and told me that I was bieng charged with the obstructing official buisbess. What could happen to me? I wasn't trying to aviod him, but I thought he was talking about the accident that I was actually in that evening and I am trying to find a lawyer to help represent me for that, so I didn't want to say anything to him. And since he didn't tell me that he wanted to talk to me about a different accident he just said that he understood that I was a witness in an accident on 1/16/2011. What do I do?

DO NOT say anything further to the police (or anyone else accept an attorney) and hire a lawyer.
