Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

bonds and the difference, extradiction vs consent bond

i have an associate that was arrested in ohio, however atl has a warrant for him, he is being told he can waive extradiction rights or get a consent bond... his aim is to get out of jail ASAP while in Cleveland and appear in Atl without being extradited to atlanta... as of yet there is no indictment on this case, only a complaint filed.. the actual charge is bank fraud and money is owed to a bank in atlanta because of a real estate deal that went sour...

Re: bonds and the difference, extradiction vs consent bond

Has Cleveland already contacted Atl? Has Atl indicated whether or not they intend to come and pick him up? Usually a bond can be posted that will allow your friend to travel to Atlanta to take care of the matter on his own. This usually requires coordination with the Atlanta Prosecutor's office, the courts in Atl and Cleveland. Your friend needs to talk directly to an attorney as soon as possible. If you have more information-or more questions feel free to call or email me your contact information. I have been doing this type of work for over 30 years and may be able answer some of your questions.

Good luck
