Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Broken rent-a-center contract
Recently my wife rented a computer from rent-a-center. The computer was borrowed by a family member who is away at school. The payments have fell behind and now they are saying they are going to file theft charges because they do not have the computer back, and will not except a payment. Can they really file theft charges?

Re: Broken rent-a-center contract
I don't believe they can persuade the local prosecutor to file theft charges (based on what you wrote). I believe it is a civil matter. Best Regards, Edward DiCato
