Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
my brother in law was arrested for having a large amount of weed. he was in a car and was pulled over. the dog was not alerted when ran around the car. the police said he had a warrant in ohio for a theft charge. they said that gave them probable cause to search his bags. that is when they found it. It turns out that the warrant was a bogus warrant and should not have been. Can he get out of this for illegal search and seizure?

If the warrant appeared to be valid at the time of the stop, the search will likely be valid.
