Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Need help!! Caught a woman on video stealing the tip jar from my business. Made a police report and plan on pursuing. However, I'd like to shame this woman and post a photo of her in my stores. I would also like to alert other stores of her behavior. What can I do? What can't I do? She is a state certified baby sitter. She is known to have done this before too :(

I'd caution against 'shaming' the woman. First, you customers may find that to be in bad taste and could choose not to patronize your stores. Second, she may consider such a shaming to be defamatory and could then sue you for libel. While her success in pursuing such an action is highly debatable, do you really want to incur litigation costs defending against such an action? My advice: keep quiet and follow-up with the theft prosecution to ensure that she is convicted.
