Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

I was charged with a felony and given 3 yrs probation. I completed my probation almost 2 years ago. I contacted a lawyer about a exspungment and was told no, because I had prior misdemeanors. If this is true is there anyway around this? I feel I was misinformed by my lawyer. He was aware my of my recored and told me if I was successful with my probation I could just get the felony exspunged.

It is true that in Ohio that expungment only applies to "first offenders" which means that if you have anything else on your record, felony or misdemeanor, (so long as we are not talking about a traffic violation) then you are not eligible for statutory expungment. There are other possible routes. You could seek a post conviction pardon from the governor's office. But expungment is probably out for you.
