Charging for testimony

I am a mental health therapist. A client from a batterer's group is going to subpoena me and I would like to know if I can charge for the time.

Re: Charging for testimony

It really depends on why you are being subpoenaed. If you are being asked to testify as an expert in your field, it is common to charge for your services. If your testimony is merely that of a fact witness (i.e., her husband ambushed her after a session and I witnessed it) then you would not be entitled to compensation for your time to testify.
