Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
ok there was a check wrote from my old bank acct. closed in jan of 08 tthe check was wrote aug 7 of o9 for 1600 dollarsto a store for roofing stuff. my driverslicense number is on the check also. i cops called me pointing the finger telling me ive been IDed for passing back checks. i told that cop my truck was broke into a while back my wallet was stolen, i had to get new SS card DLs everything new in 4.09. well he seems to think im trying to wiggle out of passing bad checks and asked me to come give a hand writing sample. im worried they might arrest me. can they? and will anything come of this if i just ignore the rude cop

If you don't give a sample, they may actually charge you. On the other hand, they may charge you anyway. You should be very careful about giving them anything. When you get there to give a sample, they may try and get a statement from you. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Ed DiCato
