Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
child care center background check
I work at a childcare center in ohio. I may be getting charged with misdemeanor assault. If I am convicted or plead guilty or no contest, will I be able to continue working there. I have been there for 3 years. Also, I am trying to open my own part-time center. Will this prevent me from doing this?

Re: child care center background check
Assault is one of the many charges that could prevent you from working as a child care provider in a day care center. Work with your attorney to identify all such charges, and then attempt to negotiate a plea agreement that does not require a conviction for a disqualifying offense.
Good luck.
