child endangerment speedy trial
my husband was arrested june 2006 and has had 2 set trials, but dismissed due to other trials by judge. does he qualify for speedy trial law even though the lawyer has asked for continunces?

Every time a defense lawyer files a motion it tolls the time until the next court date. when that motion is done, the time starts up again.
It is a very technical business counting the days to a speedy trial...was it a misdemeanor or felony... That determines how many days the defendant has to go to trial.
