Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

convicted felon

Feb 2002 I was convicted in Ohio for failure to pay child support for 2 yrs (I was self employed and didn't make any money the business only generated money for it self). sence this has happend I have been rejected to jobs and places to live. My probation ends feburary 22, 2007. Is there any way to get this removed from my record (the felony) so I can have a normal life and find better employment. this situation is making m life very hard, I can't understand why this is a felony, the only thing that it has accomplised is making me work and live in a lower standard of life, I don't want this to go on for the rest of my life.

You need to check with an attorney in Ohio in the county where the sentence was handed down. Arizona has laws that would allow you to apply to have the conviction set aside. While I am also licensed in Ohio, I am inactive. However, I believe it has similar provisions.

If you have no other convictions, you can apply to have the record sealed, but not until you have been off probation for three years.
