Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Credabilility of an accusation

A 13 year old daughter of a freind accused me of touching her chest in 1993. It is 2001. She had to be 5 or 6. It came up in a discussion with a counsler after she got in trouble for dating a 20 year old boy and she was in trouble. she has been in alot of trouble at school and home in the recent past. What weight would something like this have and what would be the burden of proof on the prosecution if they wanted to press charges. I have seen this child less than 5 times since 1995. Even before that if I saw her I was with my wife and never alone with the child.

should I worry or does the delay of years not matter?

Re: Credabilility of an accusation

The prosecution has to prove any criminal case by beyond a reasonable doubt. It is difficult to say if you have to "worry" as there may be more facts than you may be aware of.
