I have a criminal conviction that I appealed. My attorney for this case is no longer affordable. If I meet income guidelines, am I able to replace him with a court appointed attorney for the appeal?

Assuming you meet the income guidelines for appointed counsel in your county, the court should appoint counsel for the appeal. You will need to prepare a financial affidavit (also called an affidavit of indigency) and also file a motion with the court asking for appointment of counsel.

Your current attorney should be willing to help you with that process. If not, contact the trial court judge's office or your probation office for a referral to the proper contact person within your county.
