Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Domestic Violence charge

I have a domestic Violence (M1) and a TPO violation on my record. Is there any way I can get this exponged off my record? These are the only offences I have. These are from 1999 and 2000. This case concerns my ex-husband and his current girlfriend at the time. No one was hurt but I really got the raw end of the deal since they lied to the police and judge. Basically my word against their's. And to be honest, I just pled out because I was so distraught over the whole thing I didn't want to go to trial, I just wanted it over. I didn't have legal representation for either case. I never served any jail time, but I was threatened with jail time if I had let this go to trial. I have completed 1/4th of school for Physical therapy and they are getting ready to do finger printing and background check. If i can't get this removed from my record, I will have to drop out.

Re: Domestic Violence charge

There is no way to expunge a domestic violence conviction in Ohio. If the plea was actually to domestic violence, you are not eligible. The TPO violation could also disqualify you if it was charged as a separate criminal offense.
