Domestic Violence

Can you define Domestic Violence according to Ohio law, Stark County, Ohio and explain the consequences if convicted of 3 misdemeanor charges of Domestice Violence and also being in violation of prior Domestic Violence charge that was reduced to Disorderly Conduct by Massillon City court with the condition that no related incidents occur during the probation period?

Domestic violence is when you cause or attempt to cause physical harm to a family member. It can also occur when you threaten a family member.The fact that you have three priors indicates that you may in all likelyhood be charged with a felony next time. Secondly, it indicates that you will in all likelyhood see the inside of a jail cell for a while. And third, the Court can reinstate the suspended jail sentences in the prior cases. The above is a worst case scenario, It is very difficult to predict what the Judge will do in a particular situation. But, I would pack a toothbrush next time you go to Court.
