DUS after OVI in Ohio
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have limited driving privledges til July 19th for a OVI. I have privledges for work and assessments, says the paper i received from court. and that included both jobs i had at the time. well, i got laid-off one of the jobs and have been applying to others so i can pay my bills. well sat morning i had an interview at a place in Aurora, Ohio at 1030 am on Saturday. Well i was 1 minute from the place on was going and a cop was coming the other way and the cop said he saw my yellow plates : the kind people get for DUI's : this was my 1st and only DUI : and turned around only because of that, i wasnt speeding or anything. well he pulled me over gave me ticket for DUS even the i was going to a work interview, but it was not in the area for the jobs i have, he said. he imponded my car but i got that back already and i was lucky i guess because he dindnt arrest me, he let me call for a ride. ell now i am worried becuase i have to go to court weds morning for it. i need to know if there is a way so i dont get charged with this, what is good for me..?

Re: DUS after OVI in Ohio
If you're convicted of driving under an OVI suspension, there's a mandatory sentence of at least 3 days in jail. It may therefore be in your best interest to plead not guilty and retain an attorney to attempt to negotiate a plea to a lesser charge. I'm located in Stark County but often appear in Summit. If you'd like to discuss it over the phone, send me an email and I can give you my number.
