Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

espungment

What do I need to do to get an espungment of a felony that occurred ten years ago. Does it totally clear my record for applications to future jobs and will I be able to travel out of the country after I get the espungment? Also will I be able to own firearms ?

Re: espungment

I can expunge this for you if this the only conviction of your life since 18. Once it is expunged, it is as if it never happened. I usually charge $500 for expungements, and court charges a $50 filing fee.

Re: espungment

An expungement should clear your record for future jobs and should allow you to travel out of the country. However, there may be additional things you would need to do before you could own firearms. The first question is, are you eligible for expungment? Not all offenses are expungeable. What exactly were you convicted of? Also, do you have any misdemeanor convictions either before or since? Because if so that may make you ineligible.
