Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Excessive Sentence
My son was sentenced to 3 years in prison for phone harassment. Two of the years were for probation violations of two prior phone harassment cases. He was given consecutive, rather than concurrent sentences for the new charge. Do you believe that this is an excessive sentence for the crime committed?

Re: Excessive Sentence
Off Hand I would say that the sentence sounds excessive-but I would have to know more. The real question is did he have adequate representation? Did he have a trial or did he plead guilty? Without more information I can not say that the penalty is excessive and I need more information before I can say if there are any remedies. If you are thinking about trying to do something about this you should act quickly. There are some time limits that you may have to deal with.
Feel free to call or email and I will be happy to discuss this further.
