Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

i was told i would be able to exponge my record for theft in 3years if i remained out of trouble in jan08 it will be 3years but i got my sentence in july of 05 do i have to wait until the month i got sentenced to get that off my record.

The time doesn't start running until you are off probation also.
