Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Expungements
I was accused of a theft of money, which i did not take. i refused to plea bargain with the prosecutor and decided to let the legal system work. i went to trial and was found ''not guilty'' by a jury, this took place in 1992 and now would like to clear my name because i'am sick and tired of hearing relatives and friends say ''you beat the system or you are very lucky, prosecutors and police do not persue people if they think they are not guilty or have some suspicion that you might have done it''. Is it possible to clear my name or have a ''not guilty'' expunged from the records. a criminal convicted can expunge a conviction, i would think a not guilty would be easier and if not is it possible someway to clear my name that i didn't do this?

Re: Expungements
It is possible to apply for a Sealing of the Record, which would Seal all the records and legally remove any reference to the matter in Court and government documents. Legally it is like you were never charged and the case never happened.
