Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

extradition from ky to ohio

A few months ago a friend was stopped in Ohio and something was confiscated, nothing at that point led to any illegal activity, they were not written any tickets or were asked or notified to any kind of proceedings. They let themgo with out any prejudice. A few days ago KSP arrived to arrest him with a fugitive warrant from Ohio with an indictment. So he goes in front of the judge to have his extradition papers signed and has decided that he his not signing them. Ky sets a bond and he makes bond. Conditions that he has no illegal activity, curfew and to make contact with Ohio. This paticular incident happened 6 mos ago. Just exactly what is he to do?

Re: extradition from ky to ohio

He should contact an attorney in Ohio ASAP and have them check this out. I assume that KY is going to hold an extradition hearing if he does not clear the matter up with Ohio ahead of time.

If you have more questions feel free to email me with contact information and we can talk-If you give me a tel number it would be preferable if it were not a cell phone-for privacy purposes.

Good Luck
