Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
felony and misdemeanors in same county
Hello, I am charged with a 4th degree felony and driving with no liscence misdeameanor in ohio, my question is, can the misd. case still be open while the felony charge is? The cases are in two different townships but in the same county?

Yes, the two cases can proceed simultaneously. The misdemeanor will be heard at the lower court level (Municipal Court, County Court, or Mayor's Court) but the felony will be heard in the Common Pleas Court.
It is sometimes possible to use this situation to your advantage. Any time a person is charged with a felony I recommend that they hire an attorney.
