Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
felony theft
If a person steals $500 from their
employer and is charged with
felony in the 5th degree and it is
their first offense in any court what
are the chances of jail or prison
time? Can anything be done to
make a plea in common pleas court
so there is no jail time?

Re: felony theft
For a first offense with no prior record, you have an excellent chance at probation. However, there are also programs that you may be eligible for that, when completed, cause the charge to be dismissed and the arrest record sealed. This means for all prqactical purposes, you end up with no record. I have a large criminal practice. If you are intrested in my services, please feel free to call. I will be glad to give you a quote a firm price. Best Regards, Edward DiCato.
