Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

i got into a fight with a school teacher that aproched me it happened off of school grounds and he went to the school princapial and a week later i went to a football game (school ground) and they had the police make me leave that was the end of it untill about 2 months later i went to a basketball game at the school and they made me leave telling me they sent papers to me to say off school property in which i never seen they told me that i refused to take the paper i never seen or was given any papers now i like to know what i can do about this ... the local police wont tell me anything. glouster,ohio

In Ohio, this matter gets down to issues of proof. If the state can prove that you were told not to come onto school grounds, and then you did anyway, then you would likely be convicted of trespassing. You would of course argue that you were never given any warnings to stay off school property. However, a court would likely place a lot of reliance upon normal police and/or school procedure which would be to send you such paperwork after you were ejected from the property. Further, a judge might have a hard time believing that no one told you orally as you were twice removed from school grounds not to stay away.
