how good of evidence is ones word?
the police want to question me about a crime i didnt commit. a young kid age 21-24 working in a small town carry out is accusing me of stealing beer from there. i didnt steal the beer and a month later the police call me and want to meet with me to discuss this issue. can a person just make something like that up and have someone get accused/charged for the crime? should i even talk to the cops?

Re: how good of evidence is ones word?
You can definitely be charged with or without going to talk to the police. They very regularly decide whom to charge based on one person's word - it's just a matter of who THEY decide to believe. If you do go to the police call me first to discuss.
