Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
My ex husband is a convicted sex offender and we have a 12 year old son and he currently has custody of him I need to know is he suppose to have him and what steps can I take to get him back into my home? He was given custody before he was convicted with any charges I not because I was unfit but simply to let him raise his son to be a man but it is obvious that someone who commits such a crime doesnt need need to have a child. I just need to know the law and how to go about handling this situation.

Ohio follows the best interest of the child standard in determining which parent has custody of the child. There are roughly 14 factors that go into this determination. Conviction of a crime is only one of these.
What I need to know is 1) What is the financial situation for you and your ex, 2) Where your child wants to go, and 3) Has there been any abuse committed towards your child.
I would love to assist you with this and I have experience in this area of law. Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at [email protected] or [email protected].
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks and have a great day.
