illegal search
if a drug dog signals for drugs, what items in a rental car, do officers have the right to search a locked suit case?

It depends on what the officer reported as to how the dog reacted....if the dog reacted to something very near to the suitcase, the search may be justified, but under most circumstances he would need a search warrant to get into the suitcase.
