Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
When information is wrong on a traffic ticket.
Recently, I was in Ohio and received a traffic ticket in a "college town". The cop was a total jerk...he ended up giving me a ticket for turning left when there was clearly a sign saying I couldn't. Here's the problem...he wrote that I did a U-turn on the ticket. I was on a one way street...how could I have made a u-turn?
Is there any way of fighting this? From what I understand, if any information is incorrect on a traffic citation, it is void.
Please help. I'm trying my hardest to get out of this one.
Also, are there any laws in Ohio that would place a person's first moving violation "under advisement"? Michigan has a policy where if a person has a ticket, they pay the fine, and then as long as that person does not get another ticket for two years, it never goes on their record. I'm hoping that I can do this.
Thanks for your help.
