judicial release
my son received four years for forgery, he is at the crc in orient ohio. his attorney and the prosecuter told him to apply for an early release in 6 months since he was a first time offender. What are the procedures for submitting an early release request?

"Judicial release" requires that someone file a formal motion with the Court seeking an order that your son be released from his prison sentence and placed on a special kind of probation called "judicial release." The defendant can file the motion himself, or he can have an attorney do it. Many times the attorney is able to gather and present the evidence in favor of judicial release in a more favorable way than the inmate can, but the law allows the inmate to do it himself.
If you do not want the trial attorney to assist you with this process, there are several of us in the Columbus area who do this kind of work.
