Re: jury trial
When a court "vacates" a jury verdict it means that the verdict is set aside. In criminal cases, it means the defendant will get a new trial or, in rare cases, that the charges against the defendant will be dismissed. In civil cases it means that the verdict of the jury is set aside. It could result in a new trial, or it could result in the amount of the jury award being reduced.
To properly answer the question, the attorney would have to see the entire document where the word "vacated" appears, as the meaning of the word changes depending on the context.
