Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
can i get a lesser charge
i was charged with a misd. in the first degree. ive never done anything like this. i was cooperative with the police and where this happened, i gave the stuff back and paid for what i didn't have. is there anyway to get a lesser charge or the charges dropped?

There may be an opportunity to plea to a lesser charge, however, your attorney will have to meet with the prosecutor and discuss this possibility. It will be up to the prosecutor and Judge to decide if they will allow a lesser charge. A previously clean record will help.
