Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

lieing on an affidafidt

I had a son that was threating me and I wrote check to him under duress and he took the check from my home and cashed it. I tried to stop payment and filed a police report and said that I didn't sign it but the police said the signiture matched. I paid the bank back and they are sending the affidafid to the prosecutors office stating its a crime to lie on the affidafiadt. What could happen? and will I need a lattorney?

Re: lieing on an affidafidt

You could be charged with either a misdemeanor or low level felony. If so, you need an attorney. If you wish to contact me and give me a little more information, I might be able to give you some advice about what to do if they try to contact you. Feel free to call or e-mail. Best Regards, Edward DiCato
