Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
How long does an inmate have to sit in jail before they get their 1st hearing?
My husband is sitting int he Lorain County Jail. He--name removed--been there for 5 days so far without having a hearing. He was picked up on warrents out of VA and is waiting for an Extradition hearing. How long does he have to wait? Is there a set time before they have to let him go?

If they picked up on a separate crime, he needs to be indicted or arraigned very soon. If it's just for the warrants, they can hold him until he is transferred to WV.
