how long can a judge place a holder on someone

Umm my frirnd hasn't been charged with a crime he went to court buut they didn;t charge him all they did was place a holder on him by the judge he has been in the county jail since sept 19,2005 today is dec.19 2005 i thought by law they can only hold you for three months until charging you or they would have to release you they is no court date shedule i have been checking his name online under the county search but there is no info on his chase he was under probation but he didn't have anything going wrong with probation so was wonder how much longer can they hold him with out charging him

The 90 days does not apply to probation violations...there is no time limit on that, except the length of his original sentence.

call the judge if you want.
