Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
making an untrue statement
My friend was arrested on drug trafficking and involuntary manslaughter charges. after about a two hour interrogation. The ''nice cop'' told him that he was being charged with a third degree misdemeanor and if he tells them that he did it he will have to do some community service. My friend has a serious anxiety disorder and admitted to the charges so the police would leave him alone. He is innocent, but not according to the statement. What can he do?

What your friend needs to do is talk to a lawyer before he utters another word.

Your friend needs to see an attorney now. There may be a chance to rectify his statement to the police.
