Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
maranda rights
I was arrested for prohibition. I was asked if i drank and i said i had one beer, the sheriff told me to go stand over there and another cop came, handcuffed me, and told me to sit down. I was then taken to jail along with 13 other people and i stayed in jail for ten hours, and it was nine hours before i was allowed to use the phone. i already pleaded not guilty, and to this point i have not been read my rights. What should i do?

Re: maranda rights
Your question suggests that you were on probation and that you were arrested for a probation violation, but it does not state what that violation was. That may be an important fact.
The so-called Miranda warnings are only necessary if the police intend to use answers to the questions as evidence against you. Here, it sounds like they plan to use your admission that you had a beer as evidence against you.
Since you have already pleaded not guilty, the best thing to do now is to get in touch with an attorney in your area who is experienced in criminal defense work.
