Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
marijuana distribution
i am currently dating a 20 year old man who was recently fired from his job as a construction worker. in order to pay the bills, he is now selling marijuana. realizing that this is illegal, i am interested in the legal consequences of his actions if he is caught. it would be his first drug offence.

Re: marijuana distribution
He could go to prison for a long time.
Re: marijuana distribution
You didnt say whether this was happening at your house, which would incriminate you, but assuming that he is caught and you are not involved, he would be guilty of a 5th degree felony. First offense would be probationable, but a felony conviction. This is assuming that the amounts are under 1000 grams. Any higher than that would culminate in very serious prison time. Other factors that would increase the penalty are whether he has any kids in the house where he is doing this, and whether it was done within 1000 feet of a school.
