need serious help: misdemeanor assault case

charged with misdemeanor assault & advised to plead guilty (even though the other person hit me first) trouble is I fear it will cause me to be denied future employment in my field (elementary teacher). IF YOU ALREADY PLED GUILTY YOU NEED A LAWYER TO WTHDRAW YOUR PLEA. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TEACH WITH THAT ASSAULT ON YOUR RECORD.

I would not advise that you plea to an M-1 assault. Try to get it amended to something lower like a "persistent disorderly conduct" (M-3) or just a disorderly conduct which is a minor misdemeanor. The penalties are usually just a fine and it does not look as bad when someone does a background check.
