Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Hi my name is Nathan and i'm 19 years old. I got in trouble with the law for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. My story is this. Its 3 am and I went to pick up a friend because she asked me to take her to her friends. My friend is 15 years old and she is a girl. Her friend tells us to meet him at this one parking lot so we went there and a cop pulls up and yells at me for having a 15 year old girl out so late. I now have to go to court in a month and its a mistormeter 1. I wanna know what can happen to me when I go to court?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If the 15 year old had the permission of her parents, then you should be fine. I would, however, get an attorney. A first degreee misdemeanor carries a maximum of six months in jail, a fine of $1,000.00, plus court costs. When you face a risk of jail, you should get an attorney.
