Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation
The state of Ohio has withheld my tax return stating I owe money for a victims of crime claim. I was falsey identified at the scene, never charged with any offense and I was dismissed from the civil case before ever having to even go to court. The person actually involved in the fight turned himself in and was charged and lost the civil case. How am I even involved with this some three years later? Are they making a serious mistake or am I screwed?

Re: Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation
It sounds like they have made a mistake. You need to contact the court where the funds were sent to see if they can correct it. I assume that the funds were sent to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, since they administer the Victims of Crimes Fund. I would at least start there. Good luck.
