Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
ORC 2909.10 Criminal Trespass on Railroad Property
I received a Misdemeanor Citation Form from a Park Ranger. I was hiking in a local Metro Park and entered a part that was Railroad Property. I explained to the Ranger that there were no signs posted and I didn't realize I had done anything illegal. He still gave me a ticket and had me sign a Personal Recognizance in lieu of arrest (his words). My court date is next Tuesday 9/7. What should I expect? I feel I am innocent, but I did evidently enter CSX property. Should I plead No Contest? Will I really have a Police Record over something like this and/or possible jail time? My only experience with the law is a speeding ticket 12-14 years ago.

You need to get out of that. I'm in Lakewood and may be able to help - at least guide you.
