Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
parole violator at large
Would the State of Ohio actively pursue someone who was declared a parole violator at large and moved numerous states away from Ohio? The original felony charge happened more than 10 years ago and almost 10 years were spent incarcerated. Paroled in 2000 and having only a few months left on parole, the only violation was not reporting to the parole officer because of alcohol usage. No other felony has has been committed.
The question I have is would anything come up as being a parole violator at large from Ohio on a routine traffice stop, a drivers license/I.D. renewal; job background check, etc. in a far away state?

YES...it definitely would come up because the original charge is a felony... You need to make a motion with the court that sentenced you.

With the advent of computers, States share criminal warrants and it is highly likely that the person will be caught.
