Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Penalties for a First Degree Misdemeanor
My brother and I were both charged with aggravated menacing. He was actually arrested and I was let go, but received a summons. The police said that it was a first degree misdemeanor. Neither of us have a record, except for traffic violations. What type of sentence is most likely for this type of first time offense and should an attorney be hired?

Re: Penalties for a First Degree Misdemeanor
Aggravated menacing carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and a $1000 fine, and, if I were you, I would consult an attorney.
