Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
perjury by a witness
I have been charged with assult. the witness lied in the police report about how the events unfolded.... if i can prove this in court will it matter if i assulted her?also can you tell me where to get more info on this? thanks

It is difficult to answer your question. If a witness is shown to be a liar about some things then people are sometimes more likely to suspect that she is lying about other things. However, if she is lying about something that is not important, it may not matter.
I would talk with your attorney about this issue, as the correct answer depends on the facts of your case. Assault and domestic violence charges are serious matters, so you want to get the help of an attorney.
