Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
posession
I recently was in a situation where I let two boys take my car. I stayed at the residence with the friend I went to visit. I did not know that the 2 boys had been in trouble with drugs before. The were approached at the residence they were in the car and asked to get out they got out. I came out to let the police know I was the owner. They asked me if they could search the car and I said okay. I didn't see why not. The found drugs and said a warrent for my arrest might be issued because I owned the car. It seemed like the boys were who they wanted. Can they charge both of us and do you think I will be charged . I have a clean record and work two jobs.

Re: posession
You can definitely be charged, as well as any other person who could have possessed those drugs. Of course, even as you could be charged, you would be able to testify and try to convince the jury that the drugs were not yours, and that you didnt know they were there. Feel free to contact me in person if you want.
Re: posession
They probably could charge you under these circumstances. Whether or not they could get a conviction is another story. You really should get a lawyer, who could then make contact with the prosecutor and hopefully nip things in the bud. What county did this take place in?
