Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Possession of marajuana, misdemeanor 4.
Three years ago I was charged with posession of marajuana, which is a 4th degree misdemeanor. How long will this show up on a background check? And the 6 month driver's license suspension that was the sentance. I was 18 at the time.

This will depend on who (or what agency) is pulling the background check, but it could continue to show up unless or until you have it expunged. If you have not been convicted of any other charges and it has been more than a year since you completed the sentence, then you should be able to have the charge expunged (contact a criminal defense attorney for help). Once it is expunged, the record will be sealed and it should not show up in routine employment background checks.
