specifications are added to original counts....one kind of spec is that a juvenile was present near the marijuana...another spec is having a gun near the marijuana....another is living within a 1000 feet of a school.....

all these spec's do is make the original charge one degree higher, so if you started with a felony 5, and add a spec it is now a felony 4.... and so on ...the gun spec is most serious since it makes the sentence a one year mandatory prison sentence...
