Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

The right to a public trial

My 14 yr old daughter will be on trial for petty theft, she claims she is innocent.

I've heard the majistrate here often forbids both parents,or step parents from being in the court room. Since the first sentence in the 6th amendment of the U.S.Constitution says in part: ''In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy AND public trial'', Doesn't that mean we can have in the court room whome ever we want?

Not letting myself and her Mother and others in would be violateing her and our Constitutional rights wouldn't it?

Hope you can help me, Thank you, Don

Minors don't enjoy those same rights, but the step parents should be allowed in.
