Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Is is possible to have a record expunged?
My son is 26 yrs old and was charged with a domestic violence misdemeanor in May 04. He was then hospitalized and diagnosed with schizophrenia. He has been on medication and is doing well. He was never in trouble with the police before or since. How do we go about petitioning the court to have his record expunged? He has only been able to find temp jobs with this on his record. My husband and I also have guardianship because of this. Thank you for your help.

Re: Is is possible to have a record expunged?
It sounds like your son may be eligible to have his record sealed or expunged. You can usually ger information on the procedure to follow from the court that originally sentenced him. If you want some assistance with this I will be happy to talk to you directly. No cost or bligation for the initial session.
